Color Dare #127: Black & White with Indian Corn Blue & Silver

Welcome to a new year of Color Dare Challenges from Color My Heart.  Each Friday the design team announces a color palette for you to use to create your project.  You can create any type of project you'd like, as long as you use the chosen colors.  If you don't have the actual Close To My Heart colors, just use a similar substitute.

Color Dare #127 - Black & White with Indian Corn Blue & Silver

I've been having a lot of fun playing with my Artfully Sent Cricut Collection (Z3017).  There are so many great images to choose, from fun and simple to WOW!

• I cut the chevron strip pocket card from Indian Corn Blue (1284) cardstock using the Artfully Sent Cricut Collection (Z3017).
• I stamped overlapping circles with Black (Z2105) ink onto the pocket card.  The images are all from one of my favorite older stamp sets, Connections (D1330).
• I attached a piece of Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799) behind the chevron-shaped openings.
• I tied a piece of Black Baker's Twine (Z1921) around the card.
• I punched a circle of Silver Glitter Paper (Z1829) with the 1 1/4" circle punch (Z1311) and layered it onto the card with 3-D Foam Tape (Z1151).  
• I punched another circle out of White Daisy (1385) cardstock, stamped the Hello Today image from the Reel Life (B1431) stamp set with Black (Z2105) ink, and layered it onto the card with 3-D Foam Tape (Z1151).
• I cut a piece of Black cardstock the same size at the pocket card, rounded the corners with the Corner Rounder Punch (Z1912), and layered it onto a White Daisy (1385) card with 3-D Foam Tape (Z1151).  I also rounded the corners on the card.

PPA Team Blog Hop - Bring in the New!

Color Dare #125 - Snowhaven: Cranberry and Glacier + Whisper, Black, & White Daisy

Welcome to a new year of Color Dare Challenges from Color My Heart.  Each Friday the design team announces a color palette for you to use to create your project.  You can create any type of project you'd like, as long as you use the chosen colors.  If you don't have the actual Close To My Heart colors, just use a similar substitute.

We have an important change for 2015... neutrals will be included in the weekly color combinations. That means you may not add random neutral colors to your projects. You must use ONLY the colors specified. However, we will allow black and white, unless otherwise specified.

There are some really great color combinations this year, so check in every week for a new challenge.  I hope you will join the fun!

Color Dare #125 - Snowhaven: Cranberry and Glacier
+ Whisper, Black, & White Daisy

It's been a very cold week in the northeast.  Instead of complaining why not get some enjoyment from the season by combining beautiful winter-themed paper with a fun project?  I decided that an explosion box card was the perfect showcase for these fun snowflakes.

• I created the explosion box from White Daisy (1385) cardstock.
• I cut the decorative panels from the Snowhaven Paper Pack (X7188B) and sponged the edges with Black (Z2105) ink.
• The snowflakes were cut from White Daisy (1385), Glacier (X5770), Cranberry (1272), and Black (1386) cardstock using the Cricut Artiste Collection (Z1790).
• I stamped the Snowflakes (D1480) and sentiment in Whisper (Z2172), Glacier (Z2641), Cranberry (Z2116), and Black (Z2105) inks.
• And, of course, the center of each snowflake needed a Sparkle (Z1752)!
