These wedge shaped custom book supports/cradles are designed to hold books open safely, especially those in need of delicate handling. They are perfect for preserving spines on archival volumes.
The supports are designed in two pieces. The muslin "pillow" is filled with tiny, light-weight Styrofoam "beans". The heavy cotton cover has a Velcro closure so it can removed for washing.
The support is wedge shaped, lower in the front than in the back. In addition, the center dips down to cradle the spine of the book. The highest point of the front, on the two ends, is 5". The highest points on the back, on the two ends, are 7". Width x Depth are available in four different sizes:
X-small: 10" x 8" - $90
Small: 16" x 12" - $98
Medium: 24" x 16" - $140
Large: 32" x 18" - $176
A wide selection of colors are available. Most popular are grey, rust, burgundy, navy, brown and green. But others are possible.
