Color Dare #130 - Silver & White Daisy
This challenge was tough for me. I love the combo and thought it would be easy to make a simple, elegant card. But my first few attempts were boring! I turned to my beloved embossing folders to amp up the texture. I planned to use different embossed patterns on either side of the gate-fold, but I decided I liked the symmetry better (surprise, surprise!). The "R" is custom for my dear friends who will receive this as an anniversary card.
- I created a gate-fold card from an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of White Daisy Cardstock (1385).
- On the front I added panels of Silver Glitter Paper (Z1829), then used the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder (Z1926) to emboss two panels of White Daisy Cardstock (1385).
- Using the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge (Z3017), I cut a heart from Silver Glitter Paper (Z1829) and an "R" from White Daisy Cardstock (1385). I attached the heart to the left panel only with 3-D Foam Tape (Z1151). The "R" was glued flat to to the heart.
- Tip: It's best to use glue to attach an element to the glitter paper. Dry adhesive doesn't hold!
- On the inside side panels I added two more embossed panels of White Daisy Cardstock (1385).
- In the center section I attached a strip of Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799).
- On a shape cut from the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge (Z3017), I stamped the sentiment from the retired Trellis stamp set (D1451) with Whisper Ink (Z2172). I also inked the edges of the shape with Whisper Ink (Z2172).
