Color Dare #111 - Sorbet, Cranberry, Pacifica, Lagoon, Olive
My Cricut was humming this week as I cut the shapes for my card from the Artbooking Cricut Collection (Z1906). Now I'm going to let you in on a little secret. This delightful snowman has a lot of small pieces to it. You could cut them all out of different colors of cardstock, but I didn't feel like switching that many colors on my mats. So instead, I cut them all out of white cardstock and used my ink to color them! The sentiment was the only piece I cut from colored cardstock.
- I started with a Pacifica (X5759) card.
- I free cut a few snowy hills from White Daisy (1385) cardstock. I used a sponge to edge the hills with Lagoon (Z2195) ink, so they would be differentiated from each other.
- I cut all the pieces of the snowman out of White Daisy (1385) cardstock. I colored the hat and scarf with Lagoon (Z2195) ink, the carrot nose with Sorbet (Z2164) ink, the eyes with Black (Z2105) ink, and branch arms with Cocoa (Z2114) ink.
- I also cut the snowflakes and trees from White Daisy (1385) cardstock. I colored trees with Olive (Z2137) ink and left the snowflakes white.
- I cut the sentiment from Cranberry (1272) cardstock.
- I added Sparkles (Z1752) to the snowflakes and for Frosty's buttons.

Love your card! I just love how you made the background with the snowflakes, the rolling hills and the trees. The sparkles are a great touch too.
ReplyDeleteLove your snowman. Great idea to color some of the pieces. Sometimes I don't feel like changing paper colors to cut either. I'll have to remember this tip!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to use all the challenge colors Gretchen! I love the snowy scene you created. Fabulous card--so glad you remembered to link it up!

What an awesome card! I love the fact you colored all the snowman pieces with ink - you are so clever! (sorry if this is a duplicate comment as my computer did something wacky)
